A.J. Cook A.J. Cook, the Canadian actor most well-known for playing Jennifer Jareau (JJ) on The Criminal Minds as well as The Virgin Suicides in 1999 and 2003 respectively. She is also known for other roles. Cook's TV credits include Dead Like Me and Tru Calling. Cook was brought up in Whitby in Ontario by her parents Sandra and Mike Both of whom were school teachers. She was raised with her other siblings Angela, Nathan and Paul. She was brought up as one of the Mormon, or member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her dance, tap and jazz classes in her early years. When she was 17 that she began acting. She'd competed in numerous dancing contests. The movie Dirty Dancing starring Patrick Swayze was the catalyst for her becoming an actor. Cook tied the knot with her partner Nathan Andersen in August 2001. The couple was introduced to Nathan Andersen at Utah Valley University, where she took an acting class. They share a son. Mekhai Allan Andersen was born 13 September 2008. She is currently living in Los Angeles
